Leica-LMD (Laser Micro Dissection)

Operation Notes

• Users must have a local log on on the Leica-LMD computer workstation.  See Wendy or Michael for an account.  (Note: MHMICROSCOPY accounts can not be used on the LMD)
• When first powering up the microscope control box and running the LMD software perform an align hole function.  This is required for each new users or when the software is upgraded or often after a severe software crash.
• When the microscope control box is turned on, the microscope stage, tube caps, focus, etc. move to a home position.  Wait for this to finish before starting the LMD software.
• Cutting laser does not need to be aligned every time the LMD microscope control box is powered up.  However this alignment needs to have been done for each objective magnification used.
• If the software latch up gives a "can not control hardware" message, then shut down software and the microscope controller, wait a full 15 seconds, and then power up again.
